National Educational Technology Plan

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

The US Department of Education has issued a draft National Educational Technology Plan which calls for comprehensive integration of electronic learning resources (including e-books and e-textbooks) in K-12 education. The plan broadly addresses principles of universal design but we believe that a more robust approach that requires these technologies to be accessible and emphasizes the critical importance to students and teachers with disabilities is required.

The deadline for submitting comments is May 14. The NFB is preparing comments and will circulate them to the listserv next week for those who would like to sign on.
