Printer-friendly versionI work as an Audio Describer for Arts Access and see blind and low vision patrons on a regular basis struggling to participate fully in society. In addition, I'm a tutor. There is a large spectrum of reading disabilities suffered by children and adults whose adaptation and learning can be accelerated by using e-books as a supplementary tool in conquering their reading difficulties, including new students of the English language. In this regard, for many, e-books can turn a temporary reading difficulty into a book-buying customer of the future.
